Welcome to
WASCO, OREGON
"PRESERVING
THE PAST,
POWERING THE FUTURE"

The City of Wasco, Oregon is situated in the
gently rolling hills of the Mid-Columbia Plateau, eight miles south of the Columbia River and centered between the
Deschutes River and the John Day River. Just a stone's throw from the Oregon Trail, Wasco was settled
by ranchers, wheat farmers and merchants. Wasco prospered with the railroad and is now at the center of Oregon's
growing wind energy industry.
Blessed with a dry climate, quiet lifestyle,
and abundant recreational and cultural activites nearby, Wasco is the perfect place to visit, and an ideal place to raise
a family or retire.
Area activities include the city skate park, Depot
Museum, photo ops (see our Photo Gallery), and nearby hunting, world-famous fishing, wind surfing, and wine tasting!
The City has approved new RV Ordinances. The new Ordinances are posted on the Vital
Statistics page.
